Latest Products
The latest products offered include the Teledyne Benthos SMART products, which combine acoustic releases with acoustic modems to provide an incredibly versatile tool, which can allow you to monitor your instruments during the deployment.

Products

Glass Floatation Spheres (Teledyne Benthos)

Deep sea glass spheres are a unique, reliable and cost-effective alternative for floatation and the housing of electronic instruments in the marine environment. Capable of deployment to full ocean depth (6700m) the Teledyne Benthos range of spheres offer a non-polluting, durable method for mooring systems.

Teledyne Benthos' patented VacuSealed® glass spheres and instrument housings are manufactured from precision-moulded hemispheres to exact specifications. They produce three dimensions of sphere; 17”, 13” and 10”, all available with high visibility protective hard-hats.

Acoustic Releases (Teledyne Benthos)

Teledyne Benthos produce a wide range of acoustic releases for use in recovering mooring systems remotely. There are several different models available to suit varying depths and applications.

The release range is divided into three main depth categories: Shallow Water <305m, Continental Shelf <2km and Deep Sea <12km.

Different deck box options are also available to complement the range of releases.

Trawl Resistant Bottom Mount (Mooring Systems Inc)

Designed by Mooring Systems Inc, initially to protect ADCPs during long-term deployments, the TRBM is now configurable for many applications.

The basic unit construction consists of a truncated rectangular fiberglass cover over a fiberglass grate. Included is a single axis gimbal, type 316 stainless steel fasteners and 2 lifting/handling bails.

The optional pop-up buoy system allows float release and this combined with MSI's optional dual axis ADCP gimbal, and the large open area under the cover, make this unit highly versatile.

SMART Releases (Teledyne Benthos)

Smart Modem Acoustic Release Technology (SMART) is a unique concept from Teledyne Benthos that combines the proven technology of an underwater acoustic release with the reliable undersea communications functionality of an acoustic modem.

Currently three products are offered:

The SR-50 is a shallow water unit, based on the 867-A release platform, and rated to 300m.

The SM-75 is a modem, a release, and a flotation device, all in one. This is based on a glass instrument housing, with a burnwire release mechanism, offering a very versatile package.

The SR-100 is a deep water unit, based on the 865-A release, and rated to 6,000m. Details on the SR-100 can be downloaded below.

WAVETECTOR 2 (IMAA)

A robust, easy to use 1-Dimensional wave/wash measurement buoy. This low-cost, lightweight system can easily be deployed by one person from a launch/tender or equally from a fixed platform such as a pier, jetty or river bank. It plugs directly into the USB port which supplies power to the instrument and returns real-time time data to the computer.

An autonomous version is also in development which can transmit data via radio telemetry.
